Recognition — Categories
Recognition categories.
WWEC recognition is published in defined categories so every result is read against a fair comparison group. Each category has its own eligibility rules, comparison set and publication cycle.
Recognition architecture
Certification and ranking recognition are distinct.
WWEC recognition is designed to distinguish formal certification status from separately governed rankings, awards and other recognition programmes.
Certified Workplace Recognition
Organisations that successfully meet the applicable requirements of the WWEC Women-Centred Workplace™ Certification within an approved scope may be recognised publicly as a Womenians Workplace Excellence Council™ Certified Workplace, subject to certification validity and applicable mark-use requirements.
Rankings & Awards
WWEC may operate separately governed rankings and award programmes using published eligibility requirements, methodologies and decision processes. Participation in, or recognition through, a ranking or award does not constitute WWEC certification.
Programme Availability
Only currently approved and published WWEC recognition categories may be used as formal recognition claims. Future or proposed categories shall not be represented as active recognition programmes until their applicable methodology, eligibility and governance requirements have been approved and published.
Categories
Three published categories.
Additional categories may be introduced as the certified population grows. Category definitions are published before a cycle opens.
Industry Rankings
Rankings by sector or industry, so organisations are compared against relevant peers rather than the market as a whole.
View category →Regional Rankings
Rankings by geography or market, reflecting the legal, cultural and operating realities of each region.
View category →Women-Centred Startup Rankings
Recognition focused on qualifying women-centred startup organisations, assessed against criteria suited to early-stage scale.
View category →How categories work
Same framework, relevant comparison.
- Every category uses the same WWEC framework dimensions and the same evidence standards.
- Only the comparison group changes — sector, region or organisation type.
- Eligibility and category definitions are published before each cycle opens.
- An organisation may appear in more than one category where it meets the eligibility rules.
Recognition categories are outcomes of assessment. Category placement cannot be purchased, negotiated or sponsored.
