Rankings & awards

From certification to benchmarking.

Certification indicates that an organisation has met the applicable certification requirements. Rankings compare eligible organisations using a separately published methodology.

Trademark WWEC Workplace Excellence Rankings™ is a protected mark of the council. Use of any mark requires an active licence or written permission. Trademark & brand usage.

Boundary

Rankings and awards are separate from WWEC certification.

WWEC certification determines whether an organisation meets the applicable certification requirements within an approved scope. Rankings and awards compare or recognise eligible organisations under separately published eligibility, methodology and decision rules.

Participation in a ranking or award does not grant, replace or imply WWEC certification.

Ranking integrity rules

Published before, documented after.

Half of the integrity rules apply before a cycle opens. The other half apply once results exist. Both halves are published.

Published before a cycle opens
  • Publish eligibility rules before nominations or applications open.
  • Publish the high-level methodology.
  • Keep certification and ranking decisions separate.
  • Document conflicts of interest.
Documented after results exist
  • Maintain evidence supporting ranking decisions.
  • Do not sell a ranking position.
  • Clearly label commercial or sponsored content.
  • Publish corrections for material errors.

Benchmarking

Comparison only means something when the rules are public.

Every WWEC ranking publishes its methodology and eligibility before nominations open, and retains the evidence behind every placement.

A ranking position or award is not a certification and must never be presented as one.
