Integrity

Ethics & Anti-Bribery Policy

The credibility of the WWEC scheme depends on the integrity of every person involved. This policy sets the ethical and anti-bribery standards for staff, assessors, decision-makers and partners.

Standards & prohibited conduct

The line between integrity and breach.

Expected conduct and prohibited conduct are published side by side so there is no ambiguity for staff, assessors, decision-makers or partners.

Expected conduct
  • All WWEC activities are conducted with honesty, fairness and professional integrity.
  • No inducement, gift, payment or advantage may be offered or accepted to influence an assessment or certification decision.
  • Assessors and decision-makers act independently and only on the merits of the evidence.
  • Confidential information is protected and used only for the purposes for which it was collected.
  • Harassment, discrimination, retaliation and abusive conduct are not tolerated.
  • Suspected breaches must be reported without fear of retaliation.
Prohibited conduct
  • Offering or accepting bribes, kickbacks, facilitation payments or other improper advantages.
  • Using confidential assessment information for personal or commercial gain.
  • Misrepresenting credentials, findings, scope or certification status.
  • Retaliating against anyone who reports a concern in good faith.
  • Participating in an assessment or decision while subject to an undeclared conflict of interest.

Why it matters

A certification is only as strong as the conduct behind it.

Every safeguard in this policy exists to make one promise credible: that a WWEC outcome reflects evidence, and nothing else.

Reporting

How to raise a concern.

Anyone who works with or is affected by the WWEC scheme can raise an ethics or bribery concern. Reports are handled confidentially and without retaliation.

01

Report

Concerns may be reported through the contact channel or the Appeals & Complaints process.

02

Protect

Reports are taken seriously and handled confidentially.

03

Investigate

WWEC investigates proportionately and without retaliation.

04

Act

Substantiated breaches may lead to removal from the scheme, termination of relationship or referral to law enforcement.

This policy reflects WWEC’s commitment to honest, ethical conduct. It does not replace any applicable anti-bribery, anti-corruption or criminal laws in the jurisdictions where WWEC or its partners operate.

Integrity is the foundation.

If you have an ethics concern, please contact WWEC or use the Appeals & Complaints process.
