Scoring Guide

Every WWEC Women-Centred Workplace™ Certification assessment produces a score for each of the eight dimensions on a 0–100 scale. This guide explains how those scores are awarded and what they mean.

The scale

Five maturity bands on a 0–100 scale.

Assessors place each dimension in a band, then set a score inside that band based on the strength and coverage of the evidence.

ScoreBandWhat the evidence shows
0–24AbsentNo credible instrument, or it does not operate in the declared scope.
25–44EmergingSomething exists but is partial, informal or inconsistently applied.
45–64EstablishedApproved and operating across the scope, with basic records.
65–84EmbeddedOperating consistently, monitored, with outcomes reviewed and acted upon.
85–100LeadingConsistently effective, independently verifiable and improving year on year.

Method

How a dimension score is built.

Scoring is evidence-led. An assessor cannot award a score that the file does not support.

  1. STEP 01

    Review the evidence set

Each evidence item is recorded as accepted, insufficient, rejected or not applicable, with reviewer notes.

  2. STEP 02

    Apply the four tests

Existence, implementation, consistency and effect are assessed for the dimension as a whole.

  3. STEP 03

    Place the band

The dimension is placed in the band supported by the weakest of the four tests, not the strongest.

  4. STEP 04

    Set the score and rationale

A score inside the band is recorded with a written rationale naming the evidence relied upon.

  5. STEP 05

    Submit to the certification desk

All eight dimension scores plus an assessment summary are submitted together; the application moves to the Scoring stage.

Weighting

Eight dimensions, equally weighted.

No dimension outranks another. The overall result is the mean of the eight dimension scores, and dimension-level results are reported alongside it so that weakness in one area is never hidden by strength elsewhere.

Thresholds

What the scores mean for the decision.

Scores inform the decision panel; they do not decide by themselves.

  1. STEP 01

    No dimension below the minimum

A dimension in the Absent band prevents certification regardless of the overall score, and is returned for improvement.

  2. STEP 02

Overall result and dimension profile together

The panel reads the overall result alongside the eight-dimension profile, the evidence review and employee experience evidence.

  3. STEP 03

    Conditions may be attached

Certification may be granted with conditions, requiring specified improvements within a defined period.

  4. STEP 04

    Validity period

Certification Validity Period: 1 Year. Continued recognition depends on the improvement and verification stages.

Scores are a measurement instrument, not an outcome guarantee. The certification decision is taken by the WWEC decision panel under the published decision rules.

This guide explains how scoring is read. It does not vary the controlled scoring methodology or the decision rules.

Where this guide differs from the controlled scoring document, the controlled document governs.
