Certification Decision Process
Certification is not granted solely on the basis of participation, payment, survey results or completion of an assessment.
Basis of certification
Certification is granted only where the requirements are satisfied.
Certification is granted only where the applicable certification requirements have been evaluated and the defined certification decision requirements have been satisfied.

Completion of the required assessment activities
Review of applicable evidence and assessment results
Resolution and treatment of identified nonconformities or unmet requirements
Technical review where required

Recording of the certification decision
Issuance of certification documentation where certification is granted
Independence
Decisions are made independently of the assessment.
Individual certification decisions are made by the WWEC Certification Decision Panel, whose members did not assess the organisation concerned, after review by a WWEC Certification Reviewer separate from the assessor.
Payment for an assessment package provides access to the applicable certification process. It does not guarantee certification.
Decisions are earned, never purchased.
Questions about a certification decision can be raised through the appeals process.
