Certification is not granted solely on the basis of participation, payment, survey results or completion of an assessment.
Basis of certification
Certification is granted only where the requirements are satisfied.
Certification is granted only where the applicable certification requirements have been evaluated and the defined certification decision requirements have been satisfied.

Decisions are made independently of the assessment.
Certification decisions are made by authorised personnel independent of the assessment activities for the organisation concerned.
Payment for an assessment package provides access to the applicable certification process. It does not guarantee certification.
Decisions are earned, never purchased.
Questions about a certification decision can be raised through the appeals process.
